RFP Alerts for Federal Contractors
An RFP alert tells you when a notice matches your search. FedFinder helps federal business development and capture teams turn those matches into a shortlist: save relevant searches, review the public source, and decide what deserves pursuit.

Start with the work you can actually deliver
Use your NAICS codes, PSC, agency, title keyword, set-aside and state to narrow a federal saved search. A code match is a starting point, not proof that your company is eligible or competitive.
Find relevant notices
Read the scope, place of performance, response deadline and amendments. A title match alone can hide requirements your business cannot meet. Learn the difference between an RFI, RFP and RFQ.
Keep the evidence attached
Open the official notice before acting. Check its published date, response deadline and current attachments. A saved alert is not a guarantee that a notice is still open or that all amendments have arrived.
Save a search. Choose a cadence. Review the matches.
- Set up your company. Record your capabilities and target codes, then narrow a federal opportunity search.
- Save the search. Choose Instant, Daily or Weekly notifications, or pause a search when it is no longer useful.
- Choose delivery in notification settings. Review matches in the app. Enable external delivery only where you want it.
- Qualify before pursuing. Check fit, requirements and the source record, then organize the work in your pursuit workflow.
Timing and coverage: Instant searches are checked on an hourly sweep, not continuously. Daily and Weekly settings summarize matches. Alerts depend on source publication, ingestion and successful delivery. Each saved search is capped at five fresh matches per sweep, so use the full search results for your complete review.
Look before the formal solicitation, too
Waiting for a posted RFP can leave little time to assess the requirement. Pro and Intel include a separate Pre-RFP Signals workspace for sources-sought activity, forecasts, industry days and expiring contracts. Review those records alongside your alerts, rather than assuming every early signal will become a bid.
Read our guide to finding federal work early. Source availability varies, and there is no guaranteed advance notice or lead time.
Free alerts or a paid workspace?
SAM.gov is the free government starting point for federal contract opportunities. Its saved searches and followed notices may be enough if you already know which work to watch. State and local portals publish their own notices; they are secondary to the federal workflow described here.
Choose a paid workspace when your team needs to connect discovery, research and pursuit preparation. Compare federal intelligence platforms and read our opportunity search guide before deciding.
RFP alert questions
Are federal RFP alerts free?
SAM.gov lets you search federal opportunities for free and use a registered account to save searches and follow notices. FedFinder is a paid research and capture workspace; compare plans before signing up.
Can I filter alerts by NAICS code and set-aside?
FedFinder federal saved searches support NAICS, PSC, agency, title keyword, set-aside and state filters. Broad or inaccurate filters can create irrelevant matches, so review and refine them.
How quickly will I receive an alert?
The Instant setting is checked on an hourly sweep, not a real-time government feed. Daily and Weekly settings summarize matches. Source publication, ingestion, scheduler health and delivery preferences affect when you see a notice. Alerts are capped per search per sweep and are not a complete inventory.
Do early signals guarantee an RFP?
No. Sources-sought notices, forecasts and expiring awards can indicate potential work, but requirements can change or never become solicitations. Confirm dates, amendments and submission instructions in the official source.
Build a shortlist, not a bigger inbox
New Starter, Pro and Intel accounts pay $1 for 30 days, then renew at $3,000/year, $7,000/year or $15,000/year respectively. Card required. Renews annually until cancelled. No annual setup fee. Research is $79/month with no trial and is a connector research plan, not the app alert workflow described above.
