# FedFinder connector documentation

> For AI agents: use the [documentation index](https://www.fedfinder.net/connector-docs/llms.txt). Every guide has a Markdown version at its URL plus `.md`.

Research federal opportunities, awards and suppliers in an AI workspace that supports remote Model Context Protocol (MCP) and OAuth. Start with a specific business need, inspect the original notice, then decide what deserves more research.

## Connect your account

Use this server URL when adding a custom connector:

```text
https://app.fedfinder.net/mcp
```

[Connect FedFinder](https://www.fedfinder.net/connector-docs/connect) walks through sign-in, permissions and a first read-only search. No local software or API key is required for the OAuth connection. Your AI application may require a compatible plan or administrator approval. Custom access is separate from a directory listing.

## Find work and check the evidence

Ask your assistant:

```text
Use FedFinder to find up to five open federal opportunities for NAICS 541810.
Show each identifier, agency, response deadline and official source link when
available. Separate missing evidence from confirmed facts. Do not save anything.
```

Then ask for one result by its returned identifier. Review the official source for amendments, response instructions, eligibility and current dates. An open record or a company match is not a certification of eligibility or a prediction that you will win.

Searches read FedFinder's stored records. Source coverage and refresh timing vary. A source link does not prove the record or attachments are complete. When the result lacks dates, documents or coverage, keep those questions unresolved and check the official source.

## Choose your next step

- [Connect and run your first search](https://www.fedfinder.net/connector-docs/connect): OAuth setup and safe test prompts.
- [Tools and examples](https://www.fedfinder.net/connector-docs/tools): exact tool names, permissions and inputs.
- [Plans and usage limits](https://www.fedfinder.net/connector-docs/plans-and-limits): access, billing, allowances and rate limits.
- [Security and permissions](https://www.fedfinder.net/connector-docs/security): consent, private account data and disconnection.
- [Troubleshooting](https://www.fedfinder.net/connector-docs/troubleshooting): missing tools, authentication and source gaps.

## Keep saves and pursuits distinct

`save_opportunity` adds an open federal opportunity to your account's research shortlist, up to 25 saved records. It does not create a Pursuit Board record. Pursuit creation and editing require a supported plan and the `captures:write` permission. Ask the assistant to confirm the exact change before any save, removal or pursuit update.

The connector does not submit bids, quotes or proposals to government systems. Verify the official instructions and submit through the required channel yourself.

## Get help

Contact [sales@fedfinder.net](mailto:sales@fedfinder.net) for account or connector help. Include your AI application, the time of the failure and a redacted error, never a password or token. FedFinder is a private commercial service using public records, not a U.S. government website.
